Conviction Codes And What They Mean
Accident Offences (AC)
AC10 and AC20 come with between 5 and 10 driving licence points. AC30 comes with between 4 to 9 points.
- AC10 – Failing to stop and/or give particulars after an accident
- AC20 – Failing to give particulars or report an accident within 24 hours
- AC30 – Undefined accident offences
Careless Driving (CD)
CD10, CD20 and CD30 come with between 3 to 9 driving licence points. CD40, CD50, CD60 and CD70 come with between 3 to 11 points.
- CD10 – Driving without due care and attention / driving without paying attention due to lack of care and attention
- CD20 – Driving without reasonable consideration for other road users
- CD30 – Driving without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration
- CD40 – Causing death by careless driving when unfit through drink / drinking and driving
- CD50 – Causing death by careless driving when unfit through drugs
- CD60 – Causing death by careless driving with an alcohol level above the limit
- CD70 – Causing death by careless driving and failing to supply a specimen
Construction and use offences (CU)
The below driving offences come with 3 points except CU80 which comes with between 3 to 6 points.
- CU10 – Driving a vehicle with defective brakes
- CU20 – Driving a vehicle with parts or accessories in dangerous condition
- CU30 – Driving a vehicle with defective tyres (tyre with cuts, bulges or under legal tread depth limit)
- CU40 – Driving a vehicle with defective steering mechanism
- CU50 – Causing or likely to cause danger by reason of load or passengers
- CU60 – An undefined failure to comply with construction and use regulations
- CU80 – A breach of requirements as to control the vehicle, such as a using a mobile phone/ being distracted. Could also relate to driving without due care and attention
Disqualified Driver (BA)
The below driving offences come with 6 driving licence points.
- BA10 – Driving while disqualified by order of a court of law
- BA20 – Driving while disqualified as under aged to do so
- BA30 – An attempt to drive whilst disqualified by order of a court of law
Drinking and Driving (DR)
DR10, DR20, DR30 and DR80 come with between 3 to 11 points; DR40, DR50, DR60 and DR90 come with 10 points; and DR70 comes with 3 points.
- DR10 – Driving or an attempt to drive with alcohol above the legal limit
- DR20 – Driving or an attempt to drive while unfit through drinking alcohol
- DR30 – Driving or an attempt to drive and refusing to supply a specimen (e.g., breath sample)
- DR40 – In charge of a vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit
- DR50 – In charge of a vehicle while unfit through drinking alcohol or drugs
- DR60 – Failure to provide a specimen for analysis (e.g., breath sample) other than driving
- DR70 – Failure to provide a specimen for a breath test
- DR80 – Driving or an attempt to drive when unfit through drugs
- DR90 – In charge of a vehicle when unfit through the use of drugs

The below driving offences come with between 3 to 6 driving licence points.
- DG10 – Driving or an attempt to drive with a drug level above the specified limit
- DG60 – Cause of death by careless driving with a drug level above the legal limit
- DG80 – Driving or an attempt to drive when unfit through the use of drugs

Licence Offences (LC)
